Admirals Inn Wedding Photography, Antigua
Izzy and Jack, where to begin with this one. Admirals Inn, Antigua. Sun, sea, sand and two wonderful people getting married with their friends and family.
The email came through from last year and I had to read it twice. Its not often you receive an email for a wedding in Antigua. Izzy and I then had a skype call and it was an instant connection. We discussed the wedding plans and then it was all set. Roll forward to May 2019 and I was on a BA flight heading to Antigua. Izzy’s dad met me at the airport and then it was off to their house in the hills overlooking Falmouth Harbour, and if you looked hard enough you could see English Harbour too. Izzy arrived later that day and we had a great breakfast and talked throug hthe plans.
It wasn’t long before the day arrived. Izzy got ready at her parents house while Jack and his family were are the Gunpowder suites at the Admirals Inn.
The main hotel was started in 1785, the year after Nelson arrived in English Harbour as Captain of HMS BOREAS, and was completed in 1788.
An amazing building which was was used to store pitch, turpentine and lead, and there were offices for the engineers of the Dockyard upstairs. Fun fact: The bricks used in the building were brought over from England as ship’s ballast, and it is said that the ballast used on the return trip was mostly rum.
Once Izzy was ready she headed tot he Admirals Inn where jack was waiting with all their family and friends.A steel band played whilst Izzy entered and then a beautiful relaxed ceremony took place followed by lots of drinking, eating and dancing.
It really was a sensational location for a wedding. What made this so special though was Izzy, Jack and the warmth and generosity of their friends and family. Antigua was special, made even more so by Izzy and Jack.
I wish you guys all the best for the future and I will be back to Antigua without doubt!
