Tap on the Line Wedding | York House wedding | kew pub | marble hill house……and Mexico!
Where to begin….
A 15 hour day of laughter and chatter, locations, light, food, music, dancing and partying meant that I needed a rest! The aching in my cheeks due to smiling, and my aching body due to the days photography served as a great reminder of exactly how good their day was.
First stop Twickenham. Just down the road from the stadium (no game thankfully). I arrived at Paulina and Gavin’s flat ready for bride prep while a calm and relaxed Paulina was having hair and makeup done. I was forewarned that the Mexican family and friends would be there and it may be chaotic, but on my arrival it was tranquil. At least for an hour or so then the girls arrived, and they didn’t disappoint. Then the family arrived and it went up a notch. The flat was filled with laughter and chatter in Mexican and English. I love the Spanish language and how animated Mexican people are when speaking (and having travelled in central and South America and having Spanish family I really should speak it better).
I then headed off to York House in Twickenham to meet Gavin and the family. A short and perfect ceremony took place, and then we headed to the beautiful gardens at York House for a wander. The gardens are beautiful and the guests milled around chatting. Finally the sun made a perfectly timed appearance. It was then off to another venue, Marble Hill house, just Paulina, Gavin and myself. Marble Hill House is somewhere close to their hearts so they wanted to take some time out just to wander around and enjoy the time alone.
Next stop, Tap on the Line. The Tap on the line wedding venue is right on the platforms of Kew Gardens station. The old Pub, large atrium and candlelit outdoor space was just perfect. Crammed full of wedding guests the atmosphere was warm, bright and fun. Minimal formalities here, in fact, a couple of short but on point speeches was all it took to convey exactly what these guys meant to each other.
Oh, and the chicas broke out some seriously tasty tequila for the toasts. Needless to say the party was on! Cue the live music, dancing and partying.
And from now on I think every wedding should have a mariachi band.
